  4. Lars says:

lol that last question from Gail is the most f**king hilarious question ever

  5. Ken says:

Awright Gail! Next step, community organizer, or perhaps even an ACORN supervisor.

  6. Cait says:

E-mail concealment fail. It’s obviously @yahoo.com from the top line. Why did they bother blocking it out afterwards?

    Anyway, this is quite funny.

  7. soc13kid says:

HAHAHA shows the lack of motivation of that school
and btw, the email addy was not blocked out at all for Gail’s email address used for Jefferson’s HS reunion :)

  8. Susan says:

If I were Gail, I’d try asking an alumnus that had NOT been expelled.

  9. TyrsRanger says:

Response WIN by Mike. Very eloquent, well written, and about as subtle as a sledgehammer.

  10. Alerek says:

    wow….

Gail, if you’re reading this, I’m up for the task. I think I can be as enthusiastic as Mike could have been, possibly moreso than he.

  11. Flippy says:

    O.o

  12. Caleb says:

I like it how Gail’s first email is signed “Yours Sincerely” then the second one is signed “Cordially” hahahahaa

  13. Nik says:

Hehe I wouldn’t want that job either :P

  14. Amy says:

    Hahahahahha!
    Mixed up the Mikes, maybe?

  15. Melissa says:

    wow 4 serious?

  16. binda33 says:

Hilarious response from Mike, I wonder how much of it was true? He seems very well written considering his “unprecedented delinquency”.

    • Matt says:

Binda, truancy does not equate to lack of intelligence. He was probably more bored with school than anything else. I’m living proof. I was absent 29-1/2 days of 180 my senior year (you were required, by law, to repeat if you missed 30 days). Yet, I graduated third in the class and went on to get my M.S. in molecular biology.

It’s a Win:Win. Win for Mike for replying with an eFlameThrower and Win for Gail for having the balls to actually to reply to Mike’s response!

      • Steph says:

Hey Matt if u read this good 4 u!!!
        How funny was that?
        Seriously lolin here!!!
        ^~^

      • Louise says:

You may have graduated but I’m sure you missed out on gaining a lot of social skills. Skiving your education is nothing to shout about.

        • Mouse says:

          You’re kidding, right?

I agree completely that education is nothing to be taken lightly.

That said, here is a man who has an advanced degree in a field that 99+ percent of professional biologists (myself included) struggle with. It’s incredibly pretentious to chastize someone who has mastered such material because they “missed out” on high school “social skills.”

          Matt, you’re spot-on.

In the interest of full disclosure, I will say that this is coming from someone who by all accounts was the top student in my high school class (as if that actually means anything). I was expelled 3 weeks before graduation for excessive truancy, among other things. I never graduated from high school, and I never will.

Clearly, I’ve failed at life because of it… I’m weeks away from completing an MS in wildlife biology, I’ve made my living working with federally listed endangered species for the past 4 years, and I’ve already authored a half dozen professionally reviewed research papers.

The system failed me, as it has so many others. And for the record: I’m pissed off about it. Not because of my own experience (I can honestly say that I wouldn’t do anything differently), but because our K12 educational system here in the States is fundamentally screwed up, and people deserve better than that.

Sorry about the rant, but I can’t let asinine bullshit like this pass.

Louise, I sincerely hope that the experience you gained through high school social interactions takes you far in life. Matt and I will have to settle for dealing with brilliant people on a daily basis and figuring out how to fix what other folks have fucked up.

  17. nicitha says:

Gail is an awesome human being :D
“no no, can not go in and talk about real stuff and emotions here, need to fix Party , stay cheerful Gail, don’t stray from your golden path… just write the essential” <3

  18. nicitha says:

Forgot to say how awesome your reply was btw :)

  19. Serpentia13 says:

    Wow…just, wow.

That is so fail in so many ways I don’t know where to start.
So, I’ll just say this: GAIL FAIL!!!!!!

  20. Michelle says:

Now that’s what it’s like communicating with a machine.

  21. Safey says:

If I was him I would have taken the job and then just royally screwed it up.

  22. Wetpixels says:

Please make these image files o something so we can view them clearly! Thanks. I love these emails!

  23. EenyWeeny says:

    Fail Gail is right…

But she has a win for making me LOL.

  24. Alejandro says:

    Excellent.
I believe there’s a FAIL though: Gail’s e-mail adress is covered in the last two messages but not in the first. Legal warning!!

  25. earthlingmike says:

There isn’t any insanity here, it’s just very funny that’s all.

  26. NahhNon says:

Not insane at all. I don’t have a clue about Jefferson but I would vent that it probably sucks!

  27. Thoeger says:

He should have taken the job, yep. Could remind one of The Celebration…

  28. Jack says:

that last question was made off awesome.

And by the way, “Neanderthal Moron”.
Neanderthalers had more brains than the average homo sapiens at that time, and today. Fail in that one.

    • Qok says:

      @ Mouse:
      Win

      @ Louise/GZ:

I think you’re the reason some people would rather pull a ‘hookey’ in the 1st place (and possibly explain why some people never want to have kids)

  29. Qok says:

    @ Jack:
    Sorry, PEBKAC issue, my bad

  30. EpicFAIL says:

    @torn page
FAIL! *takes screenshot* this is going on fail blog!

  31. damn says:

i love how she says ‘reminisce about all the good times.’ what an idiot.

  32. mauricio de la rosa says:

hahaha that guy is my idol!

  33. Expulsion_Victim says:

I realize this is ancient, but I feel the need to say that Mike is my new hero. I fully admit that I get a distinctly vindictive pleasure when so-called delinquents make non-delinquents look like idiots. Personally I was “unofficially” expelled and eventually dropped out. It was without question the best decision I ever made. Standardized public education is also nothing to shout about these days.
