Towing Cars For Terrorism?

John writes, “I received this letter on my car after having someone towed from parking in my assigned spot at an apartment complex. This person lives at the complex as well and is aware that there is assigned parking available for a fee and the assigned parking spots are all clearly posted as such.
I don’t think he understands that you are ’special’ when you pay a fee to have an assigned parking spot that only you can park in.
Not quite sure how he equated having someone towed with being a supporter of terrorists.”

  1. grlgeorge says:

paying 25 buck for my parking space make the space special. and give me the right to tow your ass.
    nanana

not paying for a parking space and just parking where you want makes you a PROUD american?

  2. phleabo says:

If I can’t park my car for free while other people in the same complex have to pay, then the terrorists have won.

How come the most vocal “proud Americans,” are so often the dumbest and most selfish?

    • jklinders says:

Simple, wrap yourself in the flag, claim anyone against you is the enemy of America. Works for th eRepublicans most of the time too.

  3. UGH says:

Yet another fine example of an incoherent republican. When exactly did the Republican Party become overrun with moronic fucktards like this? It’s like the election of the first non-white president sent them all completely over the fucking edge. Grrrr…..

  4. Breaker says:

Doesn’t sound much like a Republican as it does a real-life troll.

    • UGH says:

I think accusing someone of being “one of those idiodic, tree hugging, can’t think for yourself liberals” pretty well puts you in bed with the republicans. Call me crazy.

  5. Brad F. says:

This guy is pissed because he’s used to getting away with whatever he wants to in that parking lot. Other people just shrug it off? I guess he picked the wrong one that time.

Being an asshole doesn’t make someone a “proud American”. And he says “we” like he was out on the front line pulling the trigger. Dumbass!

  6. Chuck says:

What i find ironic is, while he claims to oppose liberals, i can easily imagine some hippie taking his side.

“you can’t OWN a parking space, man! Parking spaces are part of the cosmos and should be shared by everyone!”

Is it not the American way to say “I have money, you dont, so fuck you!”

P.S. In Soviet Russia, parking space pays for YOU!

    • Meowth says:

I’d like to be so important that even parking spaces pay to be graced with my presence…

    • Casimir says:

And terrorists are related to parking spaces how again?

Geez, crazy right-winger… this right here is why I, though politically conservative, am a registered independent. GOP has too many crazies nowadays…

  7. Lam says:

I can not for the life of me tie this in with being liberal, or not, or being a terrorist? Remember the good old days when you just keyed someone’s car when they pissed you off and it didn’t become a nationsl security issue?

  8. sonofbr says:

Where does this guy live that he has a neighbor like that?

I wouldn’t live somewhere where my neighbors didn’t know how to write.

By the way, the Republican Party, okay all parties, have always been overrun with morons.

    • UGH says:

Have to agree with you on the moron comment, but damn, the republican ones sure are crawling out of the woodwork right now. It is like one walking abortion after the next.

(walking abortion — goddamn I love that phrase!).

      • sonofbr says:

        That is a good one.

I like your “fucktards” even more.
I didn’t want to use it without permission.

        • UGH says:

Oh, I cannot take credit for fucktards — I picked it up from someone else here. I’m trying to use it several times a day just to get it ingrained….. So, I’m all for widespread use, so use away!

        • jeremy says:

fucktard is indeed as old and widespread as the internets, but walking abortion is special, especially since it’s relatively unique to this site

    • Stacy says:

There’s always at least one idiot everywhere whether it’s where you live, work, go shopping, etc. I think the world wouldn’t be half as interesting without these idiots providing us with entertainment.

  9. Cho says:

Towing companies must be a front for terrorists. He secretly funded their operations by having him towed.

  10. nacoran says:

How is paying more for a parking space Liberal? That’s pure Capitalism. Socialism/Liberalism would be free parking spaces for everyone.

    • Decius says:

No, Socialist would be “You 25 people must share these 20 parking spaces. You will all pay for maintenance of the parking lot. If anyone is parked in one of your spots, anyone can have it towed.”

      • Shushnik says:

        Main Entry: hy·per·bo·le
        Pronunciation: \hī-ˈpər-bə-(ˌ)lē\
        Function: noun
Etymology: Latin, from Greek hyperbolē excess, hyperbole, hyperbola, from hyperballein to exceed, from hyper- + ballein to throw
        Date: 15th century
        : extravagant exaggeration

    • Tanar says:

Quite correct, but somehow I think your reasoning would not be fully understood by this particular person and he would likely say that you too must be on the side of “terricsts”.

  11. Gabe says:

You know this guy’s for real cuz he spells it ‘terricsts’.

  12. Joshi says:

    Can I use that argument?

“We’re fighting terrorists and you have me arrested for grand larceny? Whose side are you on?!”

  13. KissingHikaru says:

Knowing full well that a parking spot is NOT for you, yet taking it anyway and expecting people to “shrug it off” makes you a douchebag sir (or madam, as the case may be). Last I checked, such douchebaggery is not one of the qualifications of american citizens, let alone a defining feature.

  14. Strange Magic says:

The guy needs the living shit beat out of him to show him just who is being fought for…

  15. grlgeorge says:

    ROFL @ Chuck…..

  16. XaeL says:

depending on the circumstances, it might have been a lot nicer to find the person and ask him/her to move their car ..as long as it wouldn’t require too much effort.
but deducing from the fine response above, i assume that the time spent would have just been wasted in vain.

    • gia says:

That and this kind of behaviour might not have been for the first time.

    • Firefly says:

This is actually kinda a sore spot for me. At my townhouse community, there is assigned parking (in addition to general parking) and a few years ago, our next door neighboor had a habit of either parking in the spot assigned to my unit (preventing my wife from pulling into the spot) or blocking it (preventing her from pulling out of it). When my wife (4′10″) confronted the offender (6′1″), he threatened to put her in the hospital because she “didn’t ask him nicely.”

From my point of view, we shouldn’t have to ask him nicely to park in our own spot; we shouldn’t even have to ask him RUDELY to be able to park in our own spot. We shouldn’t have to ask him at all.

(Resolution – they called the police on us, but the police took our side on the issue.)

      • Come again? says:

Wait now…your wife him to stop blocking your spot, he threatened her with physical violence, an dTHEY called the police on YOU? How’s that add up now?

        • jklinders says:

It only adds up if you are profoundly stupid. Some people just don’t understand they are not entitled to have the world laid at their feet for free.

        • Firefly says:

Well, she’s 4′10″ and has spent a lifetime not being taken seriously because of her height (I’m below average height myself, although not by THAT much, so I have an idea what she goes through), and tends to be assertive in order for people to take her seriously.

The neighbor in question was middle-eastern – many folks from that region are brought up to believe that women are/should be subservient to men (PLEASE note – I’m not saying they all are, but it seemed to be the case in this instance).

          So, yeah. :/

    • Rob Anybody says:

This is also a sore spot for me. My girlfriend and I live near a fast food restaurant, and people are constantly blocking our driveway to just “run in for a minute”. What they don’t realize is that there are people parked there ALL DAY for a few minutes at a time. Every time I get home, there is a car blocking my driveway. I have been in numerous almost-fights because people won’t just apologize and admit they were wrong to block my driveway. Instead they get defensive like I’m being too sensitive about it. I promise if they got home from a hard day at work and someone was blocking their driveway EVERY DAY, they would be pissed too.

      • Danara says:

        Yeeeeesssss….

Sore spot for me as well, since I was dealing with the same thing until I asserted myself by having someone’s ass towed.

Leaving notes gets old, and one night I just happened to have had a rough day AND company that had nowhere to park.

My neighbors kept parking in my spots, their friends would park in my spots, and obviously thought nothing of it… one night after leaving a note I watched them throw it on the ground, so not only were they parked in my spot, but littering. Mind you, my spots are right in front of the sign that says UNAUTHORIZED VEHICLES WILL BE TOWED.

Parking is really limited. Why should I have to park in the GRASS when I pay rent here and I’m entitled to my damn spots?

Since being towed, they haven’t parked in my spots since. :)

  17. gia says:

I just LOVE the sense of entitlement of arrogant shitstain Republicans like that: “Because our countrymen (but not me) are fighting in an illegal war I have the right to get away with being a cheapskate douchebag and you have to put up with my douchebaggery because otherwise you are an unpatriotic traitor and a terrorist supporter.”

  18. Rei says:

We r fighting 4 proper GRAMMER.

[That says: "We are fighting for proper grammar."]

  19. rachel says:

People like this guy give conservatives a bad name. That’s why I’m an Independent. Anyone that’s too far left or too far right end up thinking like total idiots.

    • Laughing Gnome says:

That’s due to group polarization. (No, really … ask a social psychologist.) When you get a bunch of people together with similar views, they all end up “polarizing” to the far end of the opinion spectrum. It’s a studied phenomenon.

    • spodula says:

He’s not a conservative. He believes that all parking spaces should be free. That makes him a Socialist.

      • JJJF says:

No, he believes that he can park in a spot that someone ELSE paid for, not that they should all be free…just because it’s convenient for him.

  20. Jake says:

nice one I would play ding dong ditch on this prick for a year

    • UGH says:

I fail at life — I just had to google “ding dong ditch”. Duh.

Do if fail less if I originally thought it was something pornographic?

      • Mia says:

        Porny ding dong ditch?
Well now I’m imagining throwing dildos at someone’s door and running away.
…and I kind of think that would be a way better game!

  21. blarf says:

Someone should tell this guy that sharing equals socialism. The irony is dripping on this one…

  22. slc says:

Oh my, everything that this douche bag wrote is wrong. If you are going to be a jackass, at least try to make valid points. Jeez.

So to him paying for an assigned parking spot means that others are still free to park in said spot? What a moron!

He’s just mad because he didn’t get away with it. Hahahahaha! Makes me feel all warm inside.

My parents have a reserved parking spot because my dad is handicapped. People try to park there all the time. Then they get towed. If they are going to be disrespectful, then they have it coming.

  23. Daniel Pule says:

    COMPLETE ASSHOLE DOUCHENOZZLE.

  24. Strabismus says:

I think something this site seems to stress is the age-old saw: MEAN PEOPLE SUCK! Regardless of race, religion, political party, etc. Just mean people themselves are the cancer that is killing humanity! Can I get an amen?

  25. "I am not a number!" says:

Find out where he lives then go there and make yourself at home. If he calls the cops on you, tell him he is against the fight for global domination and have him hanged for being a terrorist. I mean, whose side is he on if he can’t just “shrug it off” when you use his living space?

  26. Kristen says:

Once, while riding the orange line in Boston, I came across a man in a three piece suit who quietly stood up, held onto the hand-rail and proceeded to kicked an old drunk homeless man in the chest as he was singing to himself. When people finally realized what was happening and tried to restrain him he yelled at everyone on the train that we were “liberal nut jobs” who all wanted this leach of society to continue draining our resources. Between the old drunk homeless man and this fine gentle man, it was hard to tell who was of sound mind.

    • UGH says:

What a fucking psychopath. If I were a believer in hell, I would like to think that a special corner is devoted to fuckers like this. Absent a belief in hell, all I can hope is that this guy suffers a very long, very painful death.

  27. Dyingwithlaughteratmydesk says:

The Twin Towers, The Pentagon, London, Madrid and Glasgow. Paled into obscurity because now they want our parking spaces too. Of course as a “proud american fighting terrorists” he knew what he had to do: geared up lock, stock and barrel and wrote an angry note in red crayon.

  28. sitboaf says:

    These comments are awesome!
I actually wrote about this phenomenon (those who hate the rules and those who hate the rulebreakers) in my blog a couple weeks ago. See “A Perfect Illustration.”

  29. Meh says:

Clearly the guy is angry, ranting arbitrarily and subscribes to different politics then myself, but the general point is reasonable. Getting your car towed is hugely expensive, so neighborly courtesy in places I’ve lived has always been that you leave a note and park somewhere else that night unless there’s a good reason to have the car towed.

There are lots of potential good reasons, but the owner of the space doesn’t mention any, so I’m not sure that he isn’t the jerk here.

  30. SailorsWife says:

although i think its fucked up to have someone towed ( i usually just go and knock on their door and ask them to move their car) this note is hilarious!

  31. Brenz says:

Incoherent, semi-literate Republican fails to form coherent thought.

In other news, dog bites man. Film at 11.

  32. Crystal says:

Wow. way to give good conservatives a bad name. What a jack a**. I used to live in an apartment, and we had designated parking as well, and it made me so mad when people parked in our spot. Nobody ever got towed b/c they didn’t stay long. But come on, don’t park in their spot regardless. You know you can get towed, so just don’t do it. And having someone towed and blowing your car up are not the same things. Get your facts straight before you admit to being a “proud American.” You make the rest of us look bad.

  33. Kye Etherton says:

*shots the idiot to raise the IQ level of the country*

  34. Jaredvcxz says:

    What’s an Amfrican?

  35. Tim says:

    Lookee here… We’ve got us a gen-u-ine note-writing Glenn Beck watcher…

  36. lvdyrmth says:

let me get this right, the guy that lives in the townhouse is a shit head republican because he works and pays his bill like he’s suppose to.

so the guy that’s pissed off must be a democrat because he wants something for nothing.

the democrat is pissed because he got towed for illegally parking in a clearly marked spot that says he will get towed if he parks there. it is reserved for the home owners, and they pay for it so they can park where they live. and that’s unamerican?

can someone help here, i must be one of them there semi-literate republicans.

    • jeremy says:

I can’t figure out if you’re a semi-literate republican or a tongue-in-cheek liberal. if you’re the former, read the story again carefully, and slap your semi-literate republican sign on your chest

  37. Stevenopolis says:

Reading between the lines, it’s pretty obvious that the “proud American” does this all the time and is used to people just writing him notes saying not to do it anymore (of course, they are the ones that then have to park on the street that night). I also love that he is too cheap to pay for the “little” $25 fee.

I hope that John tacked this up on the complex bulletin board for all to see.

  38. Malinda says:

There was truck that parked in my spot every single day, which resulted in me having to park very far from my apartment, carry my infant daughter and young son, along with groceries or whatever else i may have had.. note after note and still, he didnt care. Well one day, a very rainy wet day, i found a spot in deep water 5 minutes away from my apartment, i was pissed, well this man left his windows rolled down every day, so i made sure to tuck some nice fish under his seat, as well as a couple mcdonalds hamburgers.. he still didnt move, but i felt better.. however he did start rolling his windows up.
