Cops don’t get paid enough…
This one was extremely professional. How many of us would be able to do that? He’s working relatively “safe” traffic duty, and still has a miserable time.
Actually, I’ve seen the video several times t-rex and NOT ONCE did I ever see the officer acting ‘not nice’ this over dramatized piece of crap human. If anything he took the situation in stride better than anyone I know, and anyone here I bet.
I really like the cop’s “Bye!” at the end. It’s a good thing I’m not a cop, because I’d be a mean one after that. I’d decide that his behavior was ’suspicious’ and make him take a sobriety test. Have him walk a few lines, touch his nose, recite the alphabet backwards. I’d have a blast with him.
The cop was so urbane and placid … he must have been having a riot. I’ve seen the video too, but it’s awesome either way. The man shrieked when he heard the price of the ticket – sounded like a 12 year old girl … so awesome. ><
First, thank you for the memory of micromachines! Totally forgot about those. Second, that cop is a saint. I’m surprised he didn’t take him in for being an asshat.
The rest of the story is that the officer has been accused of being a little rabid on previous traffic stops. Off camera, he goaded this driver to the max and then turned the recording on. The last thing he does on camera which is not on the tape is his saying “How’s that Sarg?”
A civil suit was settled for an undisclosed amount and the trooper was suspended.
Oh yeah, the shaking! Too much. And when he rips the ticket and throws it out, and then his ridiculous fumbling while picking up his litter… Priceless.
yeah, I love this one. Too bad the cop got fired for this. Listen to the video again, the guys tells him he can’t read, but instead of explaining it to the guy, the cop insists he read the ticket. He was totally baiting the guy. Still, is there really any reason to flip out like that over a ticket? I’m gana go with ‘nope.’
This is not that silly. 130$ is a significant amount of money. Someone making minimum wage isn’t going to be making enough profit after simple cost of living and pay for something like that. Of course, not paying or missing work to show up to court will only compound the problem. Having seen the video he is far to aggressive, but considering what something like this could do to him…
When I first saw this, I couldn’t believe a grown, elderly man could act like this without having a mental problem. My own grandfather was the most sedate person I ever met. I only ever saw him get mad once, and that was when my brother sassed him when he was about 10 years old. I thought all elderly people were just like him.
How this officer kept from taking that man in after being verbally abused is beyond me. He must have just been having a laugh and realised that the guy was having a bad day. I have seen other dashcam videos where officers have dragged people out of their cars unprovoked, and to see an officer show this kind of professionalism goes to prove that they aren’t all bad.
This is how cops should be. I admire this cop as much as the rest of you, but cops SHOULD be admirable. The job needs to be set up to attract these types rather than bullies. Not to take anything away from him, but it doesn’t take a saint to treat irrational people like this rather than tazer them all.
Honestly, I would have arrested the jerk for continually calling the officer swear words. There’s absolutely no need for that sort of language to someone trying to uphold the law.

I wonder why they just posted the sound and not the whole video for this classic clip.
Why audio? I’ve seen this video on tv a dozen times. The video is way more entertaining.

You have to see the video before he gets to this point. The officer wasn’t so nice in the lead up.

Oh…my…word… That policeman is definately not being paid enough.
I’m thinking he probably needs some type of pills much more than his dog does.
Not “pills” but “kibbles”, as spoken by a high-strung, stressed-out doofus.
Yeah, this is audio from that hilarious dash cam video. It’s funny seeing the guy freak out & the cop making him pick up the ticket he just ripped up.

Hey, it is suspicious. Plenty of drunks might flip out this way.
i wouldn’t be surprised if he had 4 empty whiskey bottles in his trunk.
And ticketed him for the no insurance for sure. He thought $137 was tough….
Half of it is missing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHZMoPV1rog
i feel sorry for the guy.
Me too.

“If you don’t pick this up, sir, I’m going to summons you for littering.” I lol’d.
“There’s more of it right there.”
The way he delivered that just made me laugh.
I have to echo the sentiment that this is better with video. My favourite part of it is that the car literally shakes with this man’s rage.
Wow. Can anyone link to the video?
Absolutley,it was one of the best things I’ve ever seen.
Video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OgeMNVFpIg
The ending was absolutely priceless. I love how he just stands and says “bye” politely.
i didn’t know that Ray Romano was a police officer

Someone needs some lovin’…. and if you need some lovin’ with handcuffs, the cop’s right there.
This is the video link. Its hilarious!

Maybe so. But then, maybe he shouldn’t have been speeding in the first place.
‘Zactly. Even if one thinks that it’s sometimes okay to speed, the risks that one should take should be affected by the costs that one could bear.
Sounds like Dustin Hoffman…who is a very good driver, I might add.

That calm ‘bye’ at the end totally MMD… This cop is so adorble…
The aweful thing is you just know he’s going to get caught speeding again and this time only bats will be able to hear him shriek.
… and his dog, unless the pills were for an ear infection.
Am I the only one who thinks the crazy guy sounds like the Lorax from the animated Dr. Suess movie?

Classic. People from Maine sound funny when upset.
That guy sounded just like Barney Frank, except smarter
this guy is seriously in need of cash. i understand and feel for him.
Honestly, I would have arrested the jerk for continually calling the officer swear words. There’s absolutely no need for that sort of language to someone trying to uphold the law.
Does anyone else think that this dude sounds like Dr. Tran???
in the beginning the guy sounds like Boomhauer from king of the hill.
He sounds like Gill from the Simpsons, the one that works in all those crappy jobs and has the worst luck lol!!
It’s just audio so that they could edit-out the driver’s declaration that newly-elected President Clinton would fix everything.
